Kyi-young KANGRepresentative Partner / Patent Attorney (Ph.D.)

Introduction

Kyi-Young Kang is a representative partner of IROJE IP & LAW. Dr. Kang received his Ph. D. degree in engineering from the Department of Architecture Engineering in Kyonggi University and worked for LG as a structure engineer. Dr. Kang has worked as a patent attorney since 2002 for a lot of foreign or domestic clients particularly in the fields of machines, IT, electronic materials, software, scientific instruments and apparatus, etc.

Dr. Kang has worked also as an attorney specialized in litigation and consultation related to intellectual properties such as patent, design, trademark, copyright and unfair competition prevention. He has expanded his scope to patent technology value evaluation, research and analysis of R&D patents, and patent management. Currently, he acts an outstanding expert for intellectual property rights with deep and abundant professional care as it serves as a panel for excellent products from the Public Procurement Service, Construction Technology Judge of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Knowledge Property Advisory Committee of the Trade, etc.

He brings his knowledge and experience to represent his domestic/overseas clients not only in litigation before the Intellectual Property Tribunal, the Patent Court and the Supreme Court, but also in civil or criminal lawsuits involving IP infringements, employee invention compensation, and other related civil or criminal cases.

Soo-jin KIMManaging Partner / Patent Attorney

Introduction

Soo-Jin Kim is a co-representative partner of IROJE IP & LAW firm. She manages trademark applications, license contracts, trials, legal actions, and other works on disputes for foreign and domestic clients. She represents domestic and foreign clients in trademark applications, registrations, trials, and legal actions, providing them with trademark research and analysis. In addition, she carries out legal advices on Intellectual Property Rights in general, including trademark, copyright, and the Prevention of Unfair Competition Act.

Ms. Kim joined IROJE IP & Law firm in 2009, as a managing partner of IROJE. She graduated from Ewha Womans University and also got a degree in law school at Yonsei University. After passing the 35th Patent Attorney Examination in 1998, she started her career as a patent attorney. Ms. Kim is specializing in trademark and design issues including prosecution and litigation. She is a rare expert who can provide comprehensive legal advice on matters of mixed nature, involving trademark, design, copyright and unfair competition issues. In addition, she has created numerous leading cases in trademark and design lawsuits. Also, she has handled many patent prosecutions, patent portfolios, and technology contracts. She has accumulated over a decade of expertise and experience in the field of Intellectual Property Management and thus, her clients range from large corporations to small and medium companies, allowing for exciting opportunities for foreign IP services.

She represents domestic and foreign clients in trademark applications, registrations, trials, and legal actions, providing them with trademark research and analysis. In addition, she carries out legal advices on Intellectual Property Rights in general, including trademark, copyright, and the Prevention of Unfair Competition Act.

In-Joong KIMManaging Partner / Attorney at Law

Introduction

In-Joong KIM graduated from Sungkyunkwan University, Law in 2000. He has worked on a wide range of cases involving Intellectual Property Rights, construction, corporate management, tax, civil, finance and securities, and general administrations. He has worked with various business and union leaders on cases including, among others, those related to trademark registrations, bribery, labor and wage claims, employee compensation and wrongful termination. He has also actively worked on the competition law area by advising on establishment of a holding company, or unfair trade practices and by litigating disputes on the same area.

Mr. Kim’s practice emphasizes patent prosecution in the areas of software, communications, semiconductor and electrical technologies. He also assists clients with the development of their IP portfolios, having the experience with preparing intellectual property litigation including complex controversies arising over patents.

Introduction

Min-ho Choo passed the patent attorney bar exam in 2018, and has been in charge of patents in electronics, control, telecommunications and BM since 2019.

Introduction

Kyung-hee Kim is the head of the trademark department of IROJE, and has been working in more than 20 years of domestic and overseas trademark search, application, review, objection application, registration, advice on infringement. After graduating from the Department of Biology at Mokwon University, she received a Master of Law degree in the Department of Intellectual Property from Kyung Hee University and there is a thesis titled ‘A Study on Trademarks and Domains’.

As an experienced expert, she takes charge in application, trial, and infringement lawsuits in various areas related to trademark of domestic/foreign companies. Her clients include, but not limited to, cosmetic, clothing, food, and automobile companies. She provides her clients with legal advice on intellectual property rights including trademark, copyright, and unfair competition as well as license and negotiation on transfer of right.

Sung-Jun PARKSenior fellow / Master of Engineering

Introduction

Seong-jun Park is the head of the patent department of IROJE and received a master’s degree, engineering at Seoul National University. He has performed patent applications, patent disputes, patent infringement cases of domestic and foreign companies in the construction, machinery, electrical and electronic fields.

In addition, he has exclusively practiced in various works related to patent application in machinery, automobile, engineering, robot, imaging machinery, e-commerce, business method, designs and daily supplies fields as well as technology & IP advice and patent trial & litigation for domestic and foreign clients. He assists domestic and foreign clients with patent drafting, patent prosecution, patent search and analysis. His knowledge and experiences in mechanical engineering enable him to work with clients in a wide range of technologies including machinery, automobile, engineering, robot, imaging machinery.
